Audi Genuine Spark Plugs

What do they do?

Spark plugs are the component that ignites the spark in your engine. Traditional internal combustion engines that are poweredy gasoline use a spark plug to do just that – light a spark – which causes the fuel-air mixture to combust, creating power that moves the vehicle forward.

Why replace them?

Spark plugs are subjected to immense amounts of heat and pressure in an operating engine. The tip of the spark plugs, an electrode will gradually erode, which results in a loss of performance.

Vehicles that have worn out spark plugs may have hard starting, reduced power, along with consuming more fuel and higher emissions.

When to replace?

Spark plugs are made to last for quite a while to ensure reliably performing engines. Most Audi models should have Spark plugs replaced every 60,000 kilometers or 6 years, whichever occurs first. However, some models with higher performance engines require Spark plugs to be replaced every 45,000 km or 3 years.

Consult with your service advisor at Audi Oakville to have spark plugs replaced according to your vehicle’s factory-recommended maintenance intervals, or as required.
